Stay with EzyWay until the end.

Necessary Documents for Admission to German Universities

To study at top universities in Germany, which excel in engineering, basic sciences, and medicine and hold special rankings in global rankings like QS, you need to prepare the following list for admission to the master's level:

• Bachelor's degree and transcripts: Must be accurately translated and certified by an official translator into German or English.

• Language certificate: To prove proficiency in German or English, valid certificates are required, such as level C2 of the Goethe-Zertifikat, ÖSD, and DSH exams, level C1 of the Telc exam, and level TDN4 of the TestDaf exam in German or valid English language certificates like TOEFL IBT with a minimum score of 80 or IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5.

• Educational CV: Must include your educational experiences and achievements and be written formally and professionally.

• Motivation Letter: A professional letter that explains your capabilities and reasons for being suitable for acceptance from the university with solid and convincing arguments.

Types of Admission for Master's Programs in Germany

To study at the master's level in prestigious German universities, there are two ways to obtain admission: direct admission and conditional admission. Each of these paths has specific conditions explained below.

Direct Admission

In direct admission, the student is accepted based on their academic qualifications without any conditions and can enroll in the desired program. For this type of admission, they must have valid documents from one of the language tests in German or English as detailed below:

German Language

• Telc with level C1

• Goethe-Zertifikat with level C2

• DSH with level C2

• ÖSD with level C2

• TestDaf with TDN4

English Language

• TOEFL IBT with a minimum score of 80

• IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5

Important Notes

Universities like Rostock, Bremerhaven, and Jade University accept B2 German language level for direct admission in some fields of study. However, note that this condition does not apply to all fields.

Universities that offer direct admission with a B2 certificate are often located in less well-known cities. These universities usually create these conditions to attract more immigrants.

If you obtained your bachelor's degree through a non-continuous program, meaning first an associate degree and then a bachelor's degree, you can still apply for master's admission in Germany without any issues.

Conditional Admission

Conditional admission is offered to students who must meet certain special conditions, such as improving their German or English language skills or having relevant work experience. These students must fulfill these conditions before starting or during their studies to be allowed to continue.

Some universities in Germany, like Clausthal University, offer conditional admission without a language certificate, stating that A1 and A2 should be obtained after arriving in Germany. However, this type of admission is pointless for two reasons: first, that having at least a B1 certificate is a requirement for the embassy for educational migration. Second, one of the main conditions of the embassy for conditional admission is having at least a B1 language certificate.

Important Tips

Students currently in Germany cannot use conditional admission.

For conditional admission in master's programs, a minimum B1 language level is required. Students have up to two years to obtain the necessary language certificate from the university to be able to enter the master's program.

Conditional admission in English for master's programs in German universities does not exist.

Conditions for Admission to Master's Programs in Germany

To study for free in Germany at the master's level, candidates should pay attention to details that may vary across the admission conditions of different universities. For example, some universities may have special conditions such as a specific GPA or course matching, or may require acceptance certificates from assessment exams, or have specific interviews or entrance exams depending on the selected field and city.

Generally, for master's studies, having a bachelor's degree is sufficient, and there is no need for a diploma or pre-university certificate. However, at EzyWay, to ensure that all your application documents are complete and to increase your chances of acceptance, we collect all necessary documents from you.

Final Words

Studying in a master's program in Germany requires the submission of bachelor's degree documents, transcripts, a valid language certificate, a CV, and a motivation letter. Admissions can occur through direct or conditional methods. In direct admission, a student who submits complete documents is accepted without any conditions.
